Mark Sandiford is a multi award-winning producer and director with 34 years of experience in film, television and interactive media, including 14 years as producer and executive producer with CBC TV.
In 2000, Mark established Beachwalker Films Inc., which has produced documentaries for the NFB, CTV, Discovery Channel and APTN. In 2008 Mark’s film, Qallunaat! Why White People are Funny, won the Gemini Canada Award for best reflection of Canada’s racial and cultural diversity.
Mark has also produced several video games for Telos International and has created digital media strategies for traditional media companies coping with the radical transformation of the global media ecosystem. Among Mark’s current projects are N3XT TV, a web series for PEI youth looking at education/career/life options, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangiit in Nunavut High Schools, a documentary looking at how high school education is being transformed now that Inuit are assuming key leadership positions in Nunavut.
Mark is president of the Island Film Factory, chair of CulturePEI and vice president of the Canadian Interactive Alliance.
