Jason Arsenault has been involved in independent video and film production since 1997 when he took his first film workshop though the Island Media Arts Cooperative. He has worked on productions ranging from small indie films to Hollywood movies. In 2004 he produced and directed his first documentary film titled According to John Acorn. The film won the Island Media Arts Festival audience favourite award and was picked up for CBC broadcast. More recently, Jason has completed a diploma in documentary film from Seneca College in Toronto and co produced a number of new documentary projects that focus specifically on the East Coast of Canada including The Crow Agenda, which screened at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in 2011, and Exhibition Drive, a full-length documentary about the 2011 Gold Cup and Saucer funded through Charlottetown’s 2011 Cultural Capital of Canada Legacy Series. Jason currently lives in Charlottetown, PEI and is a sessional lecturer in Political Science at the University of Prince Edward Island.
